Poppy Santa Lucia Highlands

The always-affordable Poppy Chardonnay may be labeled "California" but the fruit now comes entirely from the winery's estate vineyards the Santa Lucia Highlands. Fermented partly in barrel and partly in stainless steel, with some of the wine going through malolactic fermentation, you get a Chardonnay with that distinct Calfiornia style. Bright acidity, toasty oak spice, creamy lees and a buttery texture make for a wine ideal for unwinding at the end of a long day, or with richer poultry and fish dishes.
